What Happens When a Teenager Finds Their Calling?

A Big Idea as Grand as a Round-the-World Journey

Early morning. The sun begins to peek over the horizon. The first rays pierce through the fog. This magical sight takes me back to the past… In 2017, I made a conscious decision: I took on my first English language student. His name was Tim.

A Big Idea as Grand as a Round-the-World Journey

Early morning. The sun begins to peek over the horizon. The first rays pierce through the fog. This magical sight takes me back to the past… In 2017, I made a conscious decision: I took on my first English language student. His name was Tim.

At that time, I didn't fully understand what I was doing. Doubts plagued me: did I have the right to teach? Like any novice, I had questions. But I began the work because I wanted nothing but the best for Tim.

However, my understanding of "the best" didn't match what Tim wanted, and his parents had their own expectations. This was the most challenging obstacle.

We began working together, and what intrigued me the most was Tim's motivation: why was he learning English? What mattered to him? We talked a lot, and through our conversations, I began to understand what drove him. My goal was not just to teach him, but to help him find what would make him unstoppable.

And then we discovered something important: Tim was my peer. Like me, he was passionate about IT. It turned out that his dream was to become a developer. From that moment, our lessons changed—everything became simpler and clearer. I spoke with his parents, and to my surprise, they didn't even know that Tim was interested in IT. And he was already 17!

Once Tim understood why he needed English, why he needed exams, and where it would lead him, everything fell into place. He found his purpose, and my lessons were no longer necessary. He gained confidence and the ability to solve problems on his own.

What happened next? Tim got into his dream university, moved to another city, got married at 18, started an internship at a top IT company, earned three times the average salary, and is already thinking about starting his own business.

Today, he is 21 years old.

This is what targeted development and mentorship can do. True motivation and the right mentor can change anyone's life. And what's even more surprising? In the summer of 2024, Tim set off on a three-month round-the-world journey. All he needs for work is his mind and a laptop. At 21 years old. Tim, I am proud of you. You were my first student, and I proudly watch your successes.

We want to be proud of even more students because we know that development through IT is the most effective path. Come visit us for a tour and discover the limitless possibilities that await you.
